Five School Districts Have Proposed Tax Levies On the May Ballot

WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Five school districts within Warren County are asking their residents for financial support on the May 2 Ballot. They are:

Blanchester Local School District

Blanchester actually has two school levies on the May Ballot it is asking to be voted on.

  1. Blanchester LSD 1% Income Tax 5 years --Shall an annual income tax of 1% be levied on the earned income of individuals residing in the school district be imposed by the Blanchester Local School District, for five years, beginning January 1, 2024, for the purpose of current expenses?
  2. Blanchester LSD Add 5.2 mills 5 years -- An additional tax for the benefit of the Blanchester Local School District, Counties of Brown, Clermont, Clinton and Warren, Ohio, for the purpose of permanent improvements that the county auditor estimates will collect $1,073,860 annually, at a rate not exceeding 5.2 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $182 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's appraised value, for 5 years, commencing in 2023, first due in calendar year 2024.

Carlisle Local School District

Carlisle local schools is asking for a renewal 4.41 mills for 5 years. 

  • Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Carlisle Local School District, for the purpose of avoiding an operating deficit, in the sum of $993,222 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average 4.41 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $154 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's appraised value for a period of 5 years, commencing in 2023, first due in calendar year 2024?

Franklin City Schools

Franklin City Schools is asking its residents to pass 13.92 mills that would substitute an existing levy for 5 years. 

  • Shall a tax levy substituting for an existing levy be imposed by the Franklin City School District for the purpose of providing for the necessary requirements of the school district in the initial sum of $7,750,000, and a levy of taxes be made outside of the ten- mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to require 13.920 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $488 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's appraised value for the initial year of the tax, for a period of 5 years, commencing in 2023, first due in calendar year 2024, with the sum of such tax to increase only if and as new land or real property improvements not previously taxed by the school district are added to its tax list?

Loveland City Schools

Loveland is asking its residents for an additional 4.9 mills CPT 

  • An additional tax for the benefit of Loveland City School District for the purpose of current operating expenses that the county auditor estimates will collect $4,903,000 annually, at a rate not exceeding 4.9 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $172 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's appraised value, for a continuing period of time, commencing in 2023, first due in calendar year 2024.

 Xenia City Schools

Residents in Xenai City School District are being asked for a 7 year income tax

  • Shall an annual income tax of 0.5% on the school district income of individuals and of estates be imposed by the Xenia Community City School District to renew an income tax expiring at the end of 2023, for 7 years, beginning January 1, 2024, for the purpose of current expenses?
