Mathews Votes in Favor of Veto Override for SAFE Act and Save Women’s Sports Act
LEBANON, OH -- State Rep. Adam Mathews issued the following statement in response to the Ohio House voting to override the Governor’s veto of HB 68, the SAFE Act and Save Women’s Sports Act:
“From Aristotle to Aquinas, we are directed to promote and love the good, the beautiful, and the true. Instead, the Governor’s veto enables and empowers harm, disfigurement, and a lie deeply at odds with human anthropology. I proudly co-sponsored and voted for HB 68, and I am glad that the Ohio House voted to override the veto and put the safety of Ohio’s children first.”
Rep. Mathews recently had an opportunity to discuss his vote with Scott Sloan on 700 WLW, and he is the author of an editorial published in The National Review urging an override vote.
The veto override now heads to the Senate for consideration.
