Polar Plunge Returns To The Banks This Saturday

CINCINNATI, OH -- Polar plungers will be "Freezin' for a Reason" with an icy dip in an 18’ x 9’ x 52” pool to raise funds to support programs for the athletes from both states. The event, that helps raise awareness and funds for for Special Olympics Ohio & Special Olympics Kentucky, will place at The Banks in downtown Cincinnati on Saturday, January 27th from 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. with registration starting at 9:00 a.m.

The festivities will include music, coffee trucks, and the always entertaining costume contest before the plunge. Joining the fun, mascots from the Cincinnati Reds, FC Cincinnati, Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Cyclones, and Flying Pig will be on-hand to encourage participants to jump in.

The impact of the Polar Plunge supports year-round sports training and competition, health education and leadership programs for Special Olympics athletes. By fundraising $75 or more, participants help provide opportunities for athletes at no cost to them while creating a greater sense of belonging for everyone in the community.
