Patrol Releases Results of Recent 6-State Trooper Project


COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol joined forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on criminal patrol and drug interdiction. During the project, 55 individuals in Ohio were issued citations, including 46 for drugs and nine for illegal weapons.

The enforcement effort included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, West Virginia State Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol. The initiative began on Thursday, March 7 at 12:01 a.m. and continued through Saturday, March 11 at 11:59 p.m.

Collectively, the troopers issued 643 citations during the multi-state enforcement effort, including 554 for drugs and 89 for illegal weapons.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
