LEBANON, OH -- This week, we passed the remainder of the FY2024 budget! This was a huge bipartisan win, supporting the American people and our federal agencies.
After five months and four Continuing Resolutions, the House passed the remainder of the budget, averting a government shutdown.
Budget Wins:
- Provides $1 billion investment for increased access to affordable child care and the Head Start program.
- Invests and drives resources for K-12 schools, Pell Grants, and more.
- Dedicates $100 million for Alzheimer's and related research, and $120 million for cancer research.
- Includes $1 billion in funding to address climate change and climate resilience.
- Supports small businesses with an increase of $30 million to the Small Business Association.
- $300 million to support our Ukrainian allies in their fight against Putin. They still need significantly more funding, but this is progress.
- Preserves and strengthens education and job training, saving 224,000 teachers' jobs.
- Protected women's rights by blocking 10 extreme riders that would have limited reproductive healthcare.
Why this win matters:
This vote demonstrates the strength of the 280+ of us in the House committed to getting things done. I'm confident this bipartisan majority will carry us to provide more support to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and aid for Palestinians.
