WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Most people wouldn’t think Warren County for permanent outdoor art exhibits or for any of those quaint “barn quilts,” which are all over the state, however, our own Deerfield Township has 3 of these. Always on display and always free!

The first one (pictured above) is the FLECKENSTEIN FLOWER, created by local artist Denny Means in 2010. It is in Fleckenstein Park 3834 Mason-Montgomery Road Mason, Ohio 45040. This was a collaboration of the Deerfield Township and the Arts Alliance .
The second one created in 2011 in Carter Park is the KINGS CROWN (also by artist Denny Means) and recognizes the historic Kings Powder Mill, which was the main industry of Kings Mills in bygone days. Carter Park is located at 1720 King Ave Rd. Kings Mills, Ohio 45034
The third barn art quilt is in Cottell Park, 5847 Irwin Simpson Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. CIRCLE GAME, which was created in 2013 and was a work created from the students at the Deerfield Summer camp and the Means family.
The Barn Quilt movement was started in Adams County in 2001 by Donna Sue Groves. Over 20 barn quilts were originally painted and with the participation and support of the Ohio Arts Council many more have been painted all over Ohio. The 3 in Deerfield Township are the only organized ones in this part of Southwest Ohio. Great free family fun to visit these parks, enjoy the walking trails, play areas and see the “barn quilts” in this wonderful spring and summer weather.
