LEBANON, OH -- House Bill 660, legislation to strengthen Ohio’s Name, Image & Likeness laws is one step closer to becoming law announced State Rep. Adam Mathews (R-Lebanon).
The bill passed unanimously out of the Civil Justice Committee Tuesday.
“I’m thankful for the support of Ohio’s top college sports leaders to help get this bill passed,” said Mathews. “Our goal is to set our student athletes up for success on and off the field by allowing schools and organizations to work together to provide them with the best legal guidance and platforms.”
House Bill 660 was introduced at the start of the 2024 college football season. The legislation will ensure student athletes receive the compensation they deserve by bridging the gap between the NIL Collective and state institutions and allowing universities to officially collaborate in the process of paying student athletes.
