Increase In Motor Vehicle Thefts In Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Warren County Sheriff Department placed a public safety announcement on Jan., 27 warning Warren County residents there has been an increase in motor vehicle thefts and the criminals committing these thefts are known to carry weapons.

"There is no certain vehicle make or model these groups are targeting, so any model is a potential target.  We urge you to call 911 and not confront suspicious activity," reads the announcement.

The WC Sheriff Department gave some recommendations to  help protect your property and law enforcement in the following ways.

- Removing all key fobs from the vehicle and NOT storing keys near front doors.

- Consider placing and hiding an independent tracking device inside your vehicle.
