LEBANON, OH -- Mercy Health-Kings Mills Hospital recently presented the Lebanon Fire Department two recent honors through its Exceptional Care Recognition Program.
The Lebanon Fire/EMS crews earned recognition for two life-saving responses:
• A stroke response on September 4, 2024
• A STEMI (heart attack) alert on October 16, 2024
In both cases, the patients fully recovered and returned to their pre-event quality of life, demonstrating the critical importance of rapid, skilled emergency response.
The Mercy Health Exceptional Care Award, established in early 2024, is a collaborative initiative between Mercy Health's Cincinnati and Springfield Market EMS Coordinators and Mercy Kings Mills' Nursing Leadership. This recognition program goes beyond acknowledging routine duties—it celebrates extraordinary care provided by Fire/EMS Agencies, Law Enforcement, and Civilians in acute stroke and STEMI cases requiring emergency intervention.
This initiative represents our commitment to recognizing first responders who demonstrate excellence in pre-hospital emergency care and their vital role in our community's health and safety. The partnership between Mercy Health-Kings Mills Hospital and our local emergency services continues to strengthen our patients' survival chain.
"We sincerely thank the Lebanon Fire Department and all emergency service crews for their outstanding dedication and service to our community. Their expertise and swift action make a life-changing difference for our patients daily," stated the press release from Lisa Dyson of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
