WARREN COUNTY, OH -- From a press release from Acharya for Ohio, Laalitya Acharya's Q1 Campaign Finance Report shows that the first-time Gen Z Candidate from Mason is holding a 3-to-1 cash-on-hand lead over incumbent Adam Matthews of Lebanon.

The press release also states that Acharya, a biomedical engineer running for the State House in District 56 - which covers the Mason/Deerfield Township and Lebanon/Turtlecreek Township areas of Warren County, has outraised her opponent by 50%. The campaign boasts high grassroots engagement with a commitment to not accepting any corporate PAC money and 6 times the number of individual contributions that her opponent had in Q1.

Acharya has been organizing in Warren County for several years and most recently worked to elect 2 Democrat-endorsed candidates to the Mason City Council in 2025. Democrats in Mason & Deerfield had surprising upsets in 2025 with every endorsed candidate winning their race, and higher Democrat-leaning swings across the county.

"This is proof that 'ruby-redd' Warren may be ready for a different way of governing," reads the press release.

Acharya, a first-time candidate, said: “This campaign is living proof that voters across SW Ohio are ready for a new way of governing. One where their politicians are only held accountable to the people they represent rather than Corporate interests. We're proving every day that a successful campaign can be run even while rejecting outside interests - and that this should be the base of our elections. Even more, Ohioans deserve a State government focused on the everyday issues rather than the regular culture-wars in Columbus. Let’s fully fund our schools, stop giving our tax-dollars to datacenters, and make sure every hardworking Ohioan has access to the healthcare that they need."
