Waynesville Underground Railroad Tours Return After Selling Out in 2025
Waynesville, Ohio – After overwhelming demand and sold out sessions last year, the highly anticipated Underground Railroad Tours are returning to Waynesville for the 2026 season. These powerful and immersive guided walking tours invite guests to step back into Pre Civil War Waynesville and experience the stories of courage, resilience, and hope that shaped the community.
Led by knowledgeable guides, participants will explore the village’s rich Quaker heritage and learn about the vital role Waynesville played in the Underground Railroad. Along the way, guests will hear stories of freedom seekers and abolitionists, and visit locations connected to secret routes and safe havens that once helped guide individuals to freedom.
With only 20 participants per session, tickets are limited and are expected to sell quickly once again. Early registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot.
Several tour dates have been thoughtfully scheduled to coincide with the popular Street Faire in historic downtown Waynesville, offering visitors the perfect opportunity to turn their tour into a full day experience. After stepping into history, guests can enjoy everything the Street Faire has to offer, including live music, food trucks, and a vibrant outdoor market featuring local vendors.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore Waynesville’s charming historic district, known for its unique shops, antiques, and welcoming small town atmosphere. It is the perfect way to continue the experience by strolling from shop to shop and enjoying all that downtown Waynesville has to offer.
Tickets are now available for May through September tours. Space is limited and demand is high, so early registration is recommended.
