WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Congressman Greg Landsman spent time with doctor and nurse at Kettering Health ER in Middletown to tour the facility. During the tour, Landsman not only got to see the facility, he was able to hear the concerns of those on the front line when it comes to medical emergencies and discuss ways that Congress could help.
Areas of major concern included:
- Emergency Department boarding — the process of holding patients in the Emergency Department after the decision is made to admit the patient due to a lack of inpatient beds.
- Workplace violence
- Medicare improvements for patients
Landsman also toured AtriCure, a medical device company who is headquartered in Mason. The company employees 1,300 globally who either develop, manufacture or help sell surgical devices that treat Afib and other related heart conditions..
