WEST CHESTER, OH -- Some local seniors found that dabbling in paint was more than a way to express their creativity. Residents at Liberty Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in West Chester, nurtured their inner artist when they joined their families for an afternoon of painting. The seniors and their families found that creating a unique piece of art was a great way to interact despite memory loss.
“We look for engaging activities to share with our residents that help them find purpose,” said Amy Snow, life engagement director for Liberty Place. “Creativity is so important and brings such a sense of accomplishment. The shared activity really stimulates the brain and helps them connect with their families. Art is a great way for a person with dementia to express themselves where words can’t.”
Liberty Place is located at 7200 Heritagespring Drive, West Chester, OH.
