CARLISLE, OH -- Kevin Baker and Melissa Fisher, Carlisle 6th grade Camp Joy head coordinators, are excited to bring back the 6th grader Camp Joy program this spring.
"We had to stop the camp experience the last two school years due to Covid," noted Carlisle Intermediate Principal Jennifer Dearwester adding, "we have 89 sixth-graders attending the three-day camp from March 29 to March 31, 2023.
They have been working on this project since the beginning of the school year.
"Teachers have helped pick several educational sessions for the students to do during the camp. They will also have several outdoor activities including hiking and ropes course," Dearwester explained.
Students will be chaperoned by staff members and a few high school students.
"We hope to have this opportunity every year for 6th grade students in the future,"Dearwester explained adding, "Now the 'Joy' is back, and we hope to continue it for generations to come."
