CARLISLE, OH -- Chamberlain Middle School Students Lucas Winkler and Caden Salyer were chosen to lay wreathes at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. The two Carlisle students were chosen to participate in the ceremony because of the essays that they each wrote.
Last Friday on Nov., 17, the two 8th graders attended the National Ceremony, along with their parents and grandparents, to lay wreathes. Both students having parents and grandparents there, created a scene of three generations for the presentation.
