WARREN COUNTY, OH -- For one local senior, a rod and a reel bring back a host of memories. Jim Hansen, age 81, shared his angling passion and made new memories with some children when he and a group of Liberty Place Memory Care residents set out for a fishing trip.

“We look for engaging activities to share with our residents that help them find purpose,” said Amy Snow, life engagement director for Liberty Place. “It’s important to remind residents experiencing dementia of joyful memories of the past. They can continue to express themselves through their hobbies and try new experiences. Our residents were excited to share their fishing tips with the boys and make new friends.”
