CARLISLE, OH -- Carlisle Junior High National Junior Honor Society inducted 31 new members on Friday May 17, 2024. Students from both 7th and 8th grade were inducted. Students need to have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average and apply to be part of NJHS.
This year the society had an honorary member — Carlisle Superintendent Dr. David Vail, who is retiring July 31, which is at the end of his contract.
Vail, who has spent 43 years in education, came to Carlisle in September of 2020, where he oversaw the districts move into its then new K-12 building. In his resignation letter that he gave to the board back in January Vail wrote, “It has been my distinct honor and pleasure to serve in this capacity since September of 2020."
Robert "Bob" Fischer has been hired as Carlisle's new superintendent beginning Aug. 1, 2024.
