CARLISLE, OH -- Students at Carlisle Elementary had a fun surprise last Thursday (April 24, 2025) when the Dayton Dragons visited. The Dragons sent two pitchers and GEM, the female Dragon Mascot, to the elementary school where all the fourth and fifth graders gathered in the schools auditorium for an assembly.

The students had an opportunity to ask the players questions and each student received a folder with a word search and Dayton Dragons sticker.

Two pitchers from the Dayton Dragon's stopped by Carlisle last week for an assembly where they took some questions from the kids about being a baseball player..

"We were lucky they chose our school to visit," said Sheila Baker the district's administrative assistant to the superintendent, adding, "They said that they like to choose schools that have students attend their games through the MVP program and Carlisle students always show up. We hope they continue to offer this great program for many years to come."
