July 29 --Known as the Arabic New Year or Hijri New Year, the Islamic New Year falls on July 29 of the Gregorian calendar this year. In the Islamic calendar, the first day of Muharram, which is the first month in the Islamic calendar begins tomorrow. The Islamic calendar is lunar-based and only 354 days long. The calendar began in 622 A.D. when the Prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina. To learn more visit https://nationaltoday.com/islamic-new-year/.

July 29 is also International Tiger Day. Started in 2010, International Tiger Day was created to help educate and make humans aware that by 2010 only 3000 tigers were left. Almost 97 percent of all the wild tigers had disappeared due to habitat loss, poaching, hunting and climate change.

Tigers are known to be the world's largest of the big cats and with the average weight being a little over 800 lbs. The majority of tigers are found in India.

Today is  also System  Administrator Appreciation Day. (It falls on the last Friday in the month of July.) Since system administrators are the people who takes care of our I.T. needs, and this is an E-Paper, I want to thank all the System Administrators at Patch.com for all they do to keep this dashboard up and running. It's because of them we have the WarrenCountyPost.com!
