Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 34: The Braking News

All of sudden the car came to a complete halt. Bri was flung forward with only her seat belt stopping her from hitting the dashboard.

“YOU’RE MARRIED?” Jack yelled as he slammed on the brakes staring at Bri.

“Yeah... I guess I am,” she said, adding softly, “but not to the boy I fell in love with 30-years ago. I don’t know who or what I’ve married.”

Bri turned to look at Jack with teary eyes. Seeing Bri so filled with complete sadness, Jack’s heart broke. He pulled the car over to the side of the road. Putting his arms around her, she began to weep.

“I’m sorry Jack. I don’t mean to keep crying,” she said wiping her eyes. “Actually, I’m getting really tired of crying.”

“It’s okay, you cry all you want. Until this Alex guy came into your life, I never saw you cry. You were always so strong and put together. I enjoy seeing this side of you. It’s showing me that you’re not a superhumanwoman... you are human,” he said, holding her chin gently in one hand as he wiped her tears with the other.

“So, what happened when you got upstairs? Did you finally do it before you fought with him?” Jack asked a little teasingly hoping that this would get the Bri he knew and loved back into her normal witty self.

It worked. The question stirred her back to the strong willed fighter he knew. She sat up and hit Jack on the shoulder and snapped. “I can’t believe you asked me that. It’s like sex is the only thing on your mind!”

“Hey, I’m a guy!” he laughed.

“Gay guys think that way too?” she asked.

“Of course we do. We’re still guys!” he smiled.

“Well how am I supposed to know that? I’m not gay and I’m not a guy. No wonder this world is in such a mess!”

“Hey, but I got you to quit crying. See you’re not even sad!”

“That’s because I’m mad! You… never mind. Let’s get out of here,” she said looking at him with a look of amazement.

“Okay, but you have to tell me what happened up in the room even if there is no sex involved,” he laughed as he put the car back into gear.

Bri looked at Jack shaking her head, “You’re such a…”

“A what?” Jack asked.

“I don’t know. But as soon as I figure it out, I’ll let you know!” Bri smiled lovingly at Jack. “What would I do without you?”

“You would be standing at the end of a pier getting windblown and soaked from that drizzle while wondering how to blame me for all this,” Jack returned the smile as he pulled back on the highway heading towards DC.

"Oh, by the way... they aren't following us. I watched them take an exit ramp a few miles back," Bri said before continuing on with her story.
