Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 67: The Newlyweds

Quickly, Brianna returned to Russ’s. As she walked up the driveway, she saw Alex peering out of what was left of Russ’s window. Now that the project was destroyed, and Alex had returned to her, what did the future hold for them, she wondered.

Stopping in her footsteps looking back at Alex with her head tilted to one side, the night breeze caught her hair dancing the same way it did the first time Alex saw her.

Alex moved away from the window to open the door.

“You came back?”

“Yeah, I did,” Bri said.

“I probably have a lot of explaining to do.”

“Well, let’s put it this way. I now understand why you didn’t want me to go to your condo.”

“It wasn’t like I was having an affair with another woman."

“That is true,” she agreed.

“I mean the hologram was you… a perfect you… ” he stopped, noticing Bri’s reaction.

“A perfect me?”

“I mean... she never left me. She accepted me for who I am. I never thought I was going to see you again Bri… when my marriage ended… my thoughts went back to you. You were the woman I loved — the one I had always wanted to marry. So, when I learned how to do the hologram stuff, you … her … she was my first creation,” Alex stuttered around trying to defend why he had done what he did.

“Alex, do you know how weird that is?”

Alex didn’t say anything. Bri let out a nervous laugh.

“You don’t, do you? You’ve lived so long with your own creations, you don’t know reality.”

She touched Alex on the cheek. “See Alex, me touching you on the cheek... this is reality.”

Alex closed his eyes allowing the real, human Bri to touch him and to comfort him.

“Oh Alex, you’re beginning to get a fever again,” she said taking him by the hand back over into the den.

“Bri... if you don’t want to stay married to me, I completely understand. I’m not who you thought I was... But, you are who I thought you were,” Alex said as he started to lie back on the couch.

“You’re still who I thought you were… you kind of took me on a little adventure, though. Let’s call it – hologram hell… but the important thing is, now, I see the boy I fell in love with many years ago sitting next to me,” Bri smiled.

“You still want to be my wife?” he asked in amazement.

“Alex, when I first saw me as hologram, I will admit, I was weirded-out. I didn’t know what to think, but after talking to her…. in a strange Alex way, I understand why you did it... and how much you love me.”

“I don’t even know if I have a job now. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. How will I support you?”

“Alex, when I made that commitment to you, it was for better or worse, for richer or poorer or in sickness or in health. When I said those words I meant them.”

“So, you’re okay with getting poorer, sickness and... worse?”

“Yep, looks like that’s what I got,” Bri smiled as Alex leaned over to give her a kiss... but instead, he fell limp into her arms.

“Alex,” Bri said.

No reaction from Alex.

“Alex,” Bri cried.

Still nothing.

“Alex!” Bri screamed.
