FRANKLIN, OH -- The Warren County Administration Building is filled with well-preserved information and is an excellent resource for individuals to discover their family stories and home town history, noted Peggy Darragh-Jeromos of the Franklin Area Historical Society.

Darragh-Jeromos explained that located inside the administration building are the Warren County Genealogical Society, the Warren County Records Center and Archives, The Warren County Recorder’s Office, and the Map Room. To help county residents better understand ways to use these offices, the Franklin Area Historical Society will present Researching Warren County Records 101 at the Harding Museum located on 302 Park Ave. in Franklin, on Saturday June 15 at noon.

Diana Lovett, a Certified Genealogist and a native of Franklin who focuses her research on Warren County, Ohio families and history, is the scheduled speaker/teacher.

Darragh-Jeromos noted that this FREE presentation will cover the basics of discovering what information can be found at the  Genealogical Society, the county records center and archives,  the recorder’s office, and the map room.

"Diana’s passion for family history was first ignited by the stories her grandmother shared when she was growing up in Franklin, Ohio. She specializes in family research, property records, adoption and biological research, and the use of genealogy to support individuals suffering from cognitive impairments," explained Darragh-Jeromos.

Discussion on how to utilize these resources through actual examples of research that has been conducted, along with provision of a visual map of where to find tools for a successful visit will make up a large portion of the presentation.

"By the end of the presentation you will be well on your way to making your own Warren County family discoveries," Darragh-Jeromos noted.

While there is NO charge for this event, the Franklin Area Historical Society is asking for people wishing to attend to please RSVP by June 12 by emailing franklinohhistory@gmail.com so there will be enough handouts and seating available.
