FRANKLIN, OH -- What began as a wildflower garden for photograph has turned into a full-blown passion project for Mahayla Miller. Miller is the heart and hands behind The Stand, a soon to be flower business in Franklin, Ohio.
It soon blossomed into something far more meaningful when she began interning with Kasannah Greely, better known as Kindly Grown online. There, Miller learned everything from starting seeds to garden planning, and with the added wisdom of books, research, and a family friend with horticultural expertise, she felt ready to dig deeper-literally.
Miller's inspiration for The Stand was simple, yet profound: the joy that flowers bring. “Flowers help people celebrate all the moments of life,” she says. “I love getting to hear people’s stories and playing a small part in those celebrations.”
More than just a flower shop, The Stand is designed to be a full experience-offering food, desserts, fresh blooms, and a space to slow down and connect. Her shop is set to open sometime in June, and will be located beside her grandparents’ building at 9353 North Dixie Highway in Franklin. Open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Though launching her own business has come with its share of challenges, Miler remains grounded. “I couldn’t have made it this far without my faith in the Lord, and the support of my family and friends,” she said.
As Franklin continues to grow, Miller hopes The Stand will be part of the community’s renewed traditions-rooted in creativity, connection, and celebration.
