OHIO -- America’s River Roots Festival closed Sunday after five days of riverboats, concerts, and community — drawing hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the country to the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky riverfronts.
The first official event of America’s 250th celebration featured nine historic steamboats, more than 160 cruises, music, beer and bourbon tastings. Organizers called the inaugural event a “love letter to the Ohio River."
The festival went out with a bang - ending with a parade of the nine historic boats and a fireworks show over the Ohio.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 49 and low of 38 degrees. Overcast for the morning, partly cloudy during the afternoon, patchy rain nearby overnight.
