FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, WARREN COUNTY, OH --The few hundred residents in the north western corner of Franklin Township were given a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve, after spending the past 10 months either driving through the towns of Carlisle or Middletown to get home, they are now able to drive straight down Franklin Trenton Rd to reach their homes.
Back in February of 2025, the road was closed between Waterbury Drive in Franklin Twp. and Sonny Lewis Way/Water Source Drive after the bridge that crossed Dry One Creek, which sits very close to the Great Miami River, began to give way.
The Franklin-Trenton Road Bridge Replacement Project was completed by DDK Construction,Inc. was funded by the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) and the Warren County Engineer at an estimated cost of $975,000 and is projected to have a life expectancy of over 70 years.
The county knew this was a huge inconvenience for many residents in this area and noted in its press release that these residents' "cooperation during this project has been greatly appreciated."
