The track and field team has started the year off right with good practices and kids wanting to stay after to get better. We have two weeks until our first meet @ Piqua. We have been impressed thus far and expect to have a great year.

For anyone interested, this is what our schedule looks like:

This week’s Rocket League matchup was against the Forest Hills Varsity team. They came out strong in the first match taking a 3-0 lead. Captain Christian Balhetchet scored for the Wildcats with just under two minutes left. While the team fought hard, they couldn’t come back and lost 6-1.

The team struggled defensively in the second round even with multiple saves by Noah Woo. Balhetchet scored back-to-back goals at the 3 minute mark with a great assist by Woo, but it wasn’t enough as the Cats fell 6-2.

Heading into the third round, with the defensive play by Caiden Dill, the teams remained scoreless for the first two and a half minutes. Woo came through with a stellar shot allowing the Cats to take the lead. Forest Hills’ aggressiveness was too much scoring multiple goals in a row. Balhetchet responded with 7 saves and a goal of his own with 15 seconds left, but Forest Hills took the third game victory.

Balhetchet scored 2 more times across the 4th set to take the game into overtime, but neither was enough to overcome the well oiled machine of Forest Hills. The Wildcats are looking forward to a BYE next week to hone their skills.

There was no Fortnite match this week, but we have a double match next week against Fairborne on Monday, and Global Impact STEM on Thursday.

Alpha Flag Football League Combine

The combine is happening right before the season so that coaches and players have a chance to meet. We are also timing and grading the athletes in drills just like NFL players. This will help us make teams as even as possible during the season.
