WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Did you know that through the summer months the Warren County Park District offers Tech Free Tuesdays? Each Tuesday, Warren County Park District Naturalist Shannon Pennington helps parents get their children FREE from technology and into the world of nature at no cost (FREE).

During the summer months, Pennington will be found at either Armco Park or at Landen-Deerfield Park running a family fun and education program geared to interest children of all ages. According to Pennington the program alternates each week from Armco Park to Landen-Deerfield Park so that the program can be easily accessible to Warren County Families in both the southern side of the county and the norther side of the county. Pennington explained that this allows the Warren County resident to choose to attend the activity at the park closer to their home, or they can attend ALL the Free Tech Tuesdays at both parks... it's the parent's choice.

While the 2024 Tech Free Tuesday already began earlier this month, there are still many more Tech Free Tuesdays scheduled:

Also, new this year is a second Cops and Bobbers.

Each year the park district starts its summer programs with Cops and Bobbers, a fishing derby held for kids 0 to 16, at Armco Park Lake. But this year, a second Cops and Bobbers has been scheduled at Kingswood Park in Deerfield Township on June 29.

While FREE bait will be provided, the young fisherperson needs to bring their own fishing pole. This fishing derby is open to kids 0 to 16 and starts at 8 a.m. till noon.

The recent Armco Park Cops and Bobbers saw over 190 kids came out to fish for free and meet some of Warren County's Heroes. Pennington noted that this program is done through a "partnership with ODNR, WCSWCD, Heroes on the Water, Little Miami Conservancy, Warren Co Sheriff’s Office, and others."

Along with Tech Free Tuesdays, Warren County Park Districts offers more programs for families and people of all ages. To learn more visit Warren County Park District Events.
