LEBANON, OH -- Congressman Greg Landsman and his administration are currently taking nominations for Veteran of the Year.

"We’re excited to recognize two outstanding veterans—one from Hamilton County and one from Warren County—who have made significant contributions to their communities," Landsman noted in his weekly newsletter.

"If you know a veteran who deserves this recognition, we invite you to nominate them. Applications are open until November 25th, with winners announced on December 14th," he added.

Landsman, who is  a member of the House Committee for Veterans Affairs, has been behind several legislative efforts to serve veterans and advocate for better benefits, more funding, and a continued investment in their wellbeing.

Highlighted in his newsletter are these recent legislative efforts ....

  • What Works for Preventing Veteran Suicide Act: Our bipartisan bill that would save lives by directing the VA’s resources to the most effective veteran mental health and suicide prevention programs.
  • Employing Veterans Feed America Act: This bipartisan bill creates a pilot program to employ veterans in agriculture, conservation, and nutrition-related roles, opening doors to new career opportunities.
  • Parity for Public Health Service Ready Reserve Act (with Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester): Ensures U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Ready Reserve members receive the same employment benefits as other uniformed services.
  • We're proud to co-sponsor 43 additional bills designed to improve veterans' benefits and services.

"It’s a privilege to sit on the committee where we meet with veterans and work to advance important legislation that changes lives," he added.
