CINCINNATI, OH -- BLINK, illuminated by ArtsWave, the nation's largest light and art festival, is the winner of the Irma Lazarus award, widely regarded as the highest of the Ohio Governor’s Awards for the Arts. The award goes to “individuals or organizations who have helped shape public support for the arts through their work as advocates and have brought national and international recognition to Ohio through sustained dedication to artistic excellence.
BLINK welcomed more than two million people from across the globe in 2024, generating $126 million in economic activity for the Cincy region. It now stands as the country’s largest public art event.
In 2024, BLINK’s fourth iteration was a four-day event across more than 30 city blocks, featuring more than 80 local and global artists and the creation of 15 new permanent murals in the city’s urban core.
The Governor's Awards showcase has been a tradition sicne 1971, and this year elebrates nine exceptional Ohio artists, arts organizations, leaders and supporters.
Awardees will be honored during ceremony on May 28, 2025.
