WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01)released the following statement after Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire deal...
"I pray this gets the hostages home, brings an end to the war, and frees Gaza of Hamas. The region – and world – can then begin to heal and rebuild Gaza, leading to a lasting peace in the Middle East," Landsman's statement read.
On Wednesday October 8, US President Donald Trump announced on TRUTH social media that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of his peace plan that will pause the fighting and release the hostages. He also noted that the hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their troops to an agreed upon line.
Trump wrote, "This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen."
