MASON, OH -- The Cincinnati Open recently announced the appointment of Andrew Alcid as the event’s Executive Chef. Alcid will head-up culinary operations for Levy, the hospitality partner at Lindner Family Tennis Center and the Cincinnati Open.
The appointment of Chef Andrew comes as the event’s culinary experience will benefit greatly from the Cincinnati Open’s campus transformation. The $260 million project that is being completed in conjunction with the City of Mason, Warren County and the State of Ohio will double the venue’s acreage and includes the construction of three new kitchens.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Chef Andrew will curate an elevated food and beverage experience for athletes and fans alike. In his role, Chef Andrew will oversee a team of chefs throughout the tournament and will work with the various restaurants on-site at the Cincinnati Open to develop menus and ensure all visitors – spanning premium areas and concessions – have dining options catered to complement their tennis viewing experience. He will also lead food service operations for other events staged at the Lindner Family Tennis Center and in the year-round restaurant that will open on-site in 2026.
Chef Andrew views cooking as a way to connect with people. From kitchens in Chicago, where he learned global food culture, to Detroit, where Eastern European traditions shaped his culinary repertoire, Chef Andrew’s diverse approach and avant-garde style ensure a unique experience for every guest. He has worked with Certified Master Chef Andrew Sayes and at Chef Wolfgang Puck’s steakhouses in Detroit and Las Vegas, giving him the foundation for a career defined by innovation and excellence.
Beyond the kitchen, Chef Andrew is a passionate mentor and teacher. He has volunteered at Baker Hunt College and the Warren County Career Center, nurturing the next generation of culinarians. His commitment to his craft and community has earned him accolades including Forbes 4-Star Awards and the March of Dimes Best Chef Award in both 2016 and 2017.
An avid tennis fan, who grew up watching legends like three-time Cincinnati Open champions Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras, Alcid was excited to work at the tournament with food and beverage partner Levy, whose reputation for quality food at quality events drew him to the position.
“Food is the ultimate icebreaker, a bridge to bring people together,” Chef Andrew said. “The Cincinnati Open attracts such a diverse audience, and food is a way to celebrate the ethnicity, traditions and flavors of so many different cultures who come together at this event.”
The Cincinnati Open annually hosts the world’s best men’s and women’s professional tennis players as a 1000-level tournament on both the ATP and WTA Tours. The 2025 tournament will be held Aug. 5-18. Tickets are on sale now at cincinnatiopen.com.
