Mason, OH -- Mars Hill Academy second grade students recently visited SunWatch Indian Village and Archeological Park, a national historic landmark in Dayton, to learn about the Native American culture that existed on the 800-year-old site. The field trip corresponds with their reading of "The Courage of Sarah Noble," by Alice Dalgliesh, the story of a young girl and her encounters with Native Americans on the Connecticut frontier in the early 18th century. During their visit, the second grade students learned about the Fort Ancient people through a short video, guided trip through the museum, and a tour of the reconstructed village.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 95 and low of 71 degrees. Sunny in the morning, thundery outbreaks in nearby in the afternoon, overcast during the evening, clear overnight.
