Sixth grade students exam a telescope at the Cincinnati Observatory.

MASON, OH --Mars Hill Academy sixth grade students visited the Cincinnati Observatory, which is home to the nation's oldest public telescope. In addition to touring the historic observatory, they explored topics in astronomy and created a model comet using water, dirt, and several household materials. They also examined the two large refracting telescopes and used the pulleys and gear system to open the viewing domes.
