PROFESSIONAL BROADWAY SHOWS RIGHT HERE IN WARREN COUNTY

SPRINGBORO, OH -- The ONLY real professional theatre in Warren County is La Comedia, located in beautiful Springboro about two blocks off I-75 at 765 W Central Ave.45060.

Having been there recently at Christmas to see Holiday Inn a favorite show, I was really impressed with the fact that as a “dance show” all the dance numbers were performed and done well. The fact that the “original shows” are done as written and not cut down is a real plus.

It was a treat this week to go back to see the current offering: Into The Woods, which runs until May 4, 2025. This is a grownup show about how fantasy characters would be in the “real world” and is a genuine escape from all the things happening at the moment in OUR real world.

Matinee “dinner” started with a lettuce salad served at the table. The buffet had a large selection of foods from the ever popular sweet potato casserole to chicken wings, fried cod, marinara pasta, assorted vegetables and sliced ham... along with a bread station.

Dessert, which is also served at the table, was “Dirt Pudding,” consisting of chocolate pudding with Oreo crumbs and a jelly worm! Coffee and Tea were included in the meal, too.

The theatre is mostly ADA compliant, however, the buffet isn’t. For this, there is a service called BUFFET ASSISTANCE. To get this, you do need to tell the box office ahead. With this you can either get a plate with samplings of the buffet brought to you, or you can fill out a menu card and specific items can be brought to you plated. Either way a good time may be had by all.

I spoke to a lady at the next table who was using this service, and she loves it so much that she even subscribes to La Comedia!

Single tickets may run from $70- 79 per seat depending on the performance day and time. This includes dinner and the show for each person. Tips are extra. "Bar service” is also available.

Reduced tickets are available for groups of 15 or more. There is a package called THE OVATION package where you can get 2 tickets for 2 performances for $200.00 a real savings. Tickets may be purchased online with a small service charge or by phone. You DO need to call ahead to reserve.

Parking is free in the lot outside the theatre.

If you figure out how much it costs to see a professional Broadway play and eat dinner in Cincinnati or nearby Dayton, the prices certainly are a bargain. They have some great shows coming up this year, so be sure to check out the website soon as some of the shows get filled up fast and you DO want the best seats .
