CAESAR CREEK STATE PARK, OH -- On Saturday, August 13 Caesar Creek State Park is again hosting its popular Meteor Shower Campout with this year's theme being Beach Luau.
"Join us on the Beach as we watch the annual Perseid Meteor Shower," states the Caesar Creek Facebook Page. While the event is free, attendees are being asked to register beforehand here at Eventbrite where more information can be found.
The event, which starts at 4PM on the Public Beach, has been planned to be a family, friendly and fun activity. Along with games, nature activities, photo booth, crafts, puzzles, animal furs, bonfires and a double movie feature (Moana and 50 First Dates), the ability to see The Perseid Meteor Shower should be at its peak. And, the best viewing is with the naked eye.
State park naturalist Erin Shaw, has asked members of the Warren County Astronomical Society, of which she is a member, to bring telescopes so that they can provide views of the night sky for the public.
If you plan to stay the night, please do not set-up your tent until after 4 PM and no camp fires are permitted; come to the bonfire on the beach instead!
Caesar Creek Beach is located at 8574 E St. Rt. 73, Waynesville, OH 45068
