I saw Three Ring-Necked Cock Pheasants today at Caesar Creek State Park. Although once common in Ohio, wild populations of this species have been steadily decreasing year by year. The birds I saw today are undoubtedly from the flock of about 14,000 that the Ohio Division of Wildlife pen raises each year to stock on public hunting lands for hunters to harvest primarily in October and November.
