CARLISLE, OH -- The Carlisle Varsity Softball Team was on its way for a 5th straight SWBL championship this year. Over the last 5 seasons, the team is 58-3 in SWBL play. This year the Indians went 10-2 in the SWBL and shared the title with Waynesville.
The team won their first tournament game on Thursday, May 15th, beating Graham 8-0. But, then on Wednesday, May 21st, the Carlisle Indians lost to Benjamin Logan High School with a score of 2-12, endingCarlisle's streak of four straight district championships.
Several players received recognition for their play this year in the SWBL…Mya Howard, Allisa Shotwell, and Emma Laughlin all earned 1st Team All SWBL Buckeye.
Grace Holt and Bre Bruns earned 2ndTeam All SWBL Buckeye. Montana Wallace earned Honorable Mention All SWBL Buckeye.
Coach Ridinger was named the SWBL Buckeye Coach of the Year. Mya Howard was also named Honorable Mention All Southwest District.
