CARLISlE, OH -- Students in Mrs. Sheldon's 3rd grade class at Carlisle Intermediate had a surprise for their "mystery reader" on October 30th. Second Lieutenant Trevor Towery came into the classroom to read.

But, Towery didn't visit the classroom in a normal type of visit. First Towery, who is currently serving in the United States Army Signal Corp, is stationed in South Korea. So to "visit," Towery, who is on. the other side of the world, had to use the internet to connect with the students in Carlisle. Along with surprising the students, Towery surprised his nephew, who is in Mrs. Sheldon's 3rd grade class.

Towery read, "There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat" to the students.

Even though he is all away around the world, Towery was able to participate in his nephew's 3rd grade class.

"There is a 13 hour difference, so he had to stay up late to be able to read to the students," explained Sheldon, adding that the students... "eagerly asked him questions about the Army and his role. It was a special experience for everyone."

Towery took time to answer questions about the Army from the students.
