FRANKLIN, OH -- The Franklin Area Historical Society's summer exhibit will honor Franklin's musical heritage. The Society will host several concerts by local artists, kicking off with a 2 p.m. performance by Berachah Valley on Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m.
Berachah Valley, which includes retired Carlisle teacher Cathy Baker, had the opportunity to be featured in the movie Mayberry Man, a film that pays homage to The Andy Griffith Show.
The band has played at Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, the late Griffith's hometown, for several years. Berachah Valley was mentioned to the producer, Cort Howell, when he mentioned he was looking for a band to contact. Berachcah Valley was contacted, and the rest is history. While the concert is free, donations are welcome but not required. Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair and sit on the Harding Museum lawn to enjoy some toe-tapping bluegrass and gospel.
The Harding Museum is at 302 Park Ave., Franklin. Those with questions should call (937) 746-8295.
