LEBANON, OH -- This Saturday Warren County kids are invited to participate in the annual Cops & Bobbers Fishing Derby at Warren County Armco Park with some help from Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops and the Friends of Warren County Park District. Cabela’s has donated rods, reels, and tackle boxes to be used as prizes at the derby valued at over $1,000.
Warren County Naturalist Shannon Pennington said, “We are expecting a big turnout this year. This is a terrific way for both beginners and experienced kids to enjoy fishing in our park. We will have volunteers and donated rods and tackle there to help introduce kids to this great outdoor activity.”
The Fishing Derby is free and open to kids up to 16 years of age. No experience is necessary. Grand prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish in each age group in addition to raffle prizes. All registered kids and their adult companions will receive a free hotdog lunch at the end of the Derby thanks to the Little Miami Conservancy.
