WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Kids can earn some cool prizes this summer by "unplugging" from their electronic devices in the house and spend sometime in the outdoors to reach the 2025 100-hour Outdoor Challenge.
"ANY time outside counts," explained Warren County Park Naturalist Shannon Pennington, adding, "Every child who completes the challenge will receive a prize and will be entered into a grand prize drawing."
The challenge, which runs from May 26, 2025 through Sep 1, 2025 is absolutely free and is for children of all ages.
Just print off the tracking sheet, keep tabs on how much time your child spends outdoors between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and submit the form by 9/1 at midnight. "We suggest hanging it in a high-profile location as a good reminder to have fun outside: the fridge, next to the TV, or on the bathroom mirror are all good options," Pennington added.
The grand prize drawing will take place at the 9/18 Park Board meeting (winner does not need to be present). Prizes will be available beginning on 9/22.
