WARREN COUNTY, OH -- The Warren County Health District (WCHD) Health Commissioner
Duane Stansbury is retiring, effective November 30th, 2025. According to the WCHD press release, Stansbury has served in the public health field for over 30 years, serving the majority of those as Health Commissioner at the WCHD. Throughout his career, Stansbury has been an active member of both the Ohio Environmental Health Association and the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners. Over the course of his career, Stansbury worked closely with both of these professional organizations to bring about positive changes for public health in Ohio.
"The WCHD staff would like to thank Mr. Stansbury for his many years of service and his
contributions of public health expertise and leadership skills during his time at the agency," the press release said adding that, "While we will miss Duane’s guidance and presence, we are grateful for the dedication he has shown and the legacy he leaves behind."
WCHD’s Board of Health has selected Chris Balster to serve as Health Commissioner beginning
December 1, 2025. Balster has been with the health district since 2012 and currently serves as the
Assistant Health Commissioner.
