WARREN COUNTY (DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP), OH -- In recognition of Earth Day on April 22nd, Deerfield Township held its third annual E-Waste Recycling Event on April 10th at Deerfield Towne Center. The event drew out 557 cars that were carrying outdated broken electronics, such as televisions, batteries and computer equipment.
Not only was it a way to let residents participate in responsible recycling practices, "This collective effort diverted a significant amount of electronic waste from landfills, promoting a more sustainable future for our community," reads the township's newsletter.
To go along with the recycling, Deerfield Township Trustees recently announced the "Hefty ReNew" program to Warren County residents after representatives from Rumpke and Warren County Solid Waste District presented this new initiative at the April trustees meeting.
The program has been created to expand curbside recycling options by accepting a wider range of plastics, Styrofoam, and plastic bags. A designated Hefty ReNew orange bag, has been created to use to help simplify the process.
Free starter kits are available at the township administrative offices or by clicking here for free kit (one per household). Resident can purchase Hefty® ReNew® orange bags online or in the trash bag aisle at participating retailers. To see a list of participating retailers CLICK HERE.
