MASON, OH -- Having been told by friends how much they love eating at EL CAPORAL in Mason, it didn’t take much urging to head out for a Friday lunch.
EL CAPORAL, located at 6011 Tylersville Road in Mason, is in a small strip center bordered by Snider Road. It was a little hard to find as Tylersville is a boulevard in this part of Mason. Once inside, however, it was a very clean inviting sunny restaurant.
The menu was more extensive than most Mexican restaurants in the area, and this is likely because it is a family owned establishment. I ordered a lunch portion of Fajitas with chicken, very heavy on green peppers and onions, and it included a side of rice , refried beans, and soft tortillas with an ice tea to drink. Being that it was a lunch portion, it was NOT served in a hot skillet as this is traditionally served.
My companion ordered a Burrito Enamorado ( also a lunch portion). We were both more than delighted with our entrees.
There were nice surprises in that the lunch menu was large and for budget watchers, there were many entrees in the $9.99 category available Mon-Sat 11-3.
My lunch check for fajitas and drink was $14.98 total before tax and tip.
Dinner entrees start at $13.99 and go up from there. The service was fast and friendly. This is definitely a place to put on your dining adventures list !
Also note: There is another EL CAPORAL in Liberty Township under the same ownership.
