MIDDLETOWN, OH -- As has been the case for the past 75+ years, Woodside Cemetery will host the largest onsite cemetery Memorial Day tribute in the Greater Middletown area. This year’s event will take place at Woodside Cemetery (1401 Woodside Drive) on Monday, May 26th beginning at 11:30am.

“With Woodside being one of Butler and Warren counties largest supporter of our country’s various armed services branches, it would be our hope that our community will want to come out in larger numbers than ever before and pay tribute to our deceased veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to their country. Woodside has been and will continue to be grateful for those who laid down their lives in defense of freedom as well as support the men and women currently serving in the armed forces” said Dan Diver, General Manager of Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum.

Joining in the event will be Grand Marshal and military veteran Johnny Wireman along with Commanders of local VFW and American Legion Posts. The Guest Speaker will be Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient Major Tom O’Sullivan. Veteran journalist and columnist Rick McCrabb will be the Master of Ceremony.

The Memorial Day program will again be highlighted by a parachutist displaying a large American flag. Additionally, there will be a brass quintet performing the national anthem and patriotic songs, the playing of Taps as a final salute and tribute to our country’s deceased veteran's service and sacrifice, the release of 21 white doves, wreath-laying, and a flag presentation.

The entire City of Middletown and surrounding communities are cordially invited to attend the Memorial Day observance.
