MIDDLETOWN, OH --The Leapfrog Group has awarded Atrium Medical Center an “A” safety grade for fall 2025, recognizing the hospital’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error.
“This recognition belongs to our caregivers, whose teamwork and dedication make safety a top priority,” said Kevin Harlan, president of Atrium Medical Center. “Earning an ‘A’ grade reflects their commitment and collaboration, which ensures our patients receive the best possible care in a safe and supportive environment.”
This is the third consecutive Leapfrog “A” safety grade for Atrium Medical Center.
“Our focus on patient safety never stops,” Harlan said. “Whether it’s refining clinical processes, enhancing communication, or supporting our caregivers with the right tools and training, we are always working to strengthen the care experience for our patients.”
The Leapfrog Group assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures that assess errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
