Wings/Pizza Tour: Milano's

I've been checking out the wings and pizza at local restaurant. I am posting reviews of them here. When I do reviews of restaurants, I don't tell them that I am doing a food review. I don't want to get special treatment or better food because I am writing a story.

Today, we ordered boneless wings and pizza.

Wings

The wings were coated in a breading and almost every bite had a crunch. I ate Jamaican Jerk and Spicy Garlic Wings. I believe the Jamaican Jerk wings had a different flavor from Caribbean Jerk wings that I have eaten from other places. I liked the flavor. I liked the fact that wings were spicy, but I could taste a flavor beyond the hotness of the wing. It had a flavor that wasn't overpowering. I'm glad I ordered a side of blue cheese with the wings. I think using blue cheese on wings gives it another flavor. I like using ranch with my celery.

Pizza

We ordered a Mega Cheese pizza. First I want to talk about the look of the pizza. I don't like a pizza with a really think crust because it makes me feel like I'm eating bread. If I want extra bread with my pizza, I'll order some breadsticks. I have eaten pizzas where I feel like I have to throw away some of the crust because there's so much of it. That's not the case here. I liked the fact that Milano's cuts square pieces of pizza. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is less messy and easier to handle.

I am sometimes hesitant to order a cheese pizza because cheese pizzas can sometime seem a bit lacking without other toppings. That wasn't the case with this pizza. The cheese had a good flavor. I like to have different types of cheese mixed on a cheese pizza. It was every bit as satisfying as a pizza with pepperoni or other toppings. Another thing that I like was the pizza sauce. All pizza sauces are not the same. In some cases, they can make the pizza better or take away from the overall taste. There is a balance of cheese, sauce and crust.
