WAYNESVILLE, OH -- Village of Waynesville Council has called for a special meeting for July 31 at 6 p.m to discuss the applicants for open Council position that has been left open due to the retirement of council woman Joette Dedden back in June.
Dedden, who had served on council for 13 years, was presented a proclamation from Waynesville Mayor Earl Isaacs as June 17th Joette Dedden Day. Applications to fill the empty council seat were taken up until July 10th with interview scheduled beginning July 15. Council has 45 days to fill the seat by August 1 or the Mayor has the right to appoint the new council member.
If council does go into executive session for discussion "to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee," it is more than likely, once they return into regular meeting, a decision by vote will be made.
The meeting will be held at the Waynesville Municipal Building, 1400 Lytle Road at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
