Franklin High School's Homecoming Parade Cancelled

A letter from Kelli Fromm, principal of Franklin High School, went out on Friday saying the the homecoming parade had been cancelled and the recognition of Homecoming Court had been postponed.

The parade was originally scheduled to be held this Wednesday.  The letter said that homecoming parades were banned throughout the state on Sept. 25.  The letter also said that they attempted to get a variance from the health department, but were unsuccessful.  

Franklin High School was originally planning to recognize the Homecoming Court during the the football game on Oct. 9.  Since the football season was shortened, the Oct. 9 game was the first game of the playoffs.  While Franklin is playing a home game this Friday, the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has informed district that playoff games are to be treated as away games with no special events such as recognition of senior night or recognition of the Homecoming Court.  The recognition of this year's Homecoming Court has been postponed.

Other activities such as the powerpuff game and bonfire was previously cancelled.  

Spirit Week will still be held this week as scheduled.

Monday - PJ Day

Tuesday -Disney Day

Wednesday - Red, White, and Blue Day

Thursday - Neon Day

Friday - Wildcat Crazy Day
