Country Music Star Tyler Conti To Perform At Warren Correctional Institution
LEBANON, OH -- Inmates at Warren Correctional Institution will have a chance to hear and watch the 2024 Rock the Yard Concert later this month when the Cleveland-based nonprofit True Freedom Ministries and Nashville-based Impact Records visit the Lebanon facility. This year's summer series included eight Ohio prisons throughout the greater Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton areas, with Lebanon being its final destination. The series is sponsored by Ohio-headquartered TMG Companies and its Cares Foundation and features rising Country Music Star Tyler Conti.
“Having supported the mission of True Freedom Ministries for many years, we know firsthand the impact the ministry has had on the lives of those in prison. Partnering with them on the 2024 Rock the Yard Tour allows us to take this impact to a whole new level and hopefully inspire others,” noted Damon Mintz, TMG Cares and TMG Entertainment/Impact Records Chairman & CEO.
True Freedom Ministries has served in Ohio prisons for over a decade, bringing the gospel to thousands of inmates. The non-profit provides a multi-faceted approach to preparing inmates for a successful reintegration through faith, educational opportunities, and job training. Nearly half of the 900 inmates who heard Tyler Conti’s song, “Love from a Son,” reported they wanted to turn their lives over to Christ.
“Tyler’s music is so inspirational and reminds inmates they are important people, children of God,” said Mike Swiger, President and CEO of True Freedom Ministries. “In Matthew 25:36, Jesus tells us that when we care for those who are suffering – including prisoners – we serve Him.”
Impact Records hosted a prison performance in Grafton in March and experienced firsthand the impact on the inmates and their families. That experience moved them to work with True Freedom to create a tour with the same purpose. The icing on the cake was securing rising Country Music Star Tyler Conti who made his mark as a songwriter scoring number-one hits with songs recorded by Charlie Wilson (“One I Got” and “No Stoppin’ Us”) and Smokey Robinson (“All Of My Love”). He’s also toured with Michael Bublé and Josh Groban. Carving out time in his busy schedule was important to Conti.
“When my label, Impact Records brought this to me, it really struck home as I have dealt with challenges of my own and I’m glad people didn’t give up on me,” Conti said from his Nashville home.
Rock the Yard Concerts are not open to the public.
